Marty Elmore is a musician living in Bowie, Texas. He started playing the fiddle at age 10 learning from Texas greats such as Benny Thomasson, Randy Elmore and Bill Gilbert to name a few. Marty works a full time job at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas. His hobby and passion is playing the fiddle, collecting jam sessions of Texas fiddlers, entering and judging fiddle contests. He has entered several hundred over the last 35 years. Marty currently teaches fiddle and guitar out of his home. He taught himself to read music at the age of 35 and started transcribing fiddle tunes. Preserving 'Texas Fiddlin' is another passion of Marty's. He has published one book of Texas Fiddle tunes and is currently working on another.
