Bo Posey

Bo Posey was first influenced by country music, more specifically western swing music, at the age of 7 by listening to country radio KVOO out of Tulsa Oklahoma.  Bob Wills and western swing were always a favorite of his.  One day he was with some friends and they were jamming on the front porch.  He thought to himself, I believe I can do that.  Boy has he done just that.  A friend loaned him a fiddle and he began practicing every night.  From the first moment he slides the bow across “Josephine” (his favorite old fiddle) it becomes obvious he has perfected his skills.  Bo’s smooth vocals and fiddle playing are the payoff of years of dedication, practice and a real love of country music and western swing.
Over the years he has had the opportunity to open for Mel Tillis, Red Steagall, Eddie Raven and Mel McDaniel. He has performed with the Oklahoma State Fiddlers’ Association at the State Capitol during Bob Wills Days and also at Oklahoma City at the State fair the past several years. He has also performed at Wichita Falls Texas at Legends of Western Swing. He was able to perform with Joe Settlemires (his guitar hero) at Cameron University in Lawton, OK and at OKC at the Charlie Christian Jazz Festival.  He has performed at numerous Cowboy Churches in Oklahoma and as far as Alpine Texas.
In 2014 he was inducted into the Sacramento Western Swing Hall of Fame.  In 2018 he was voted Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year at The McSwain Theatre in Ada, Oklahoma. He was recently inducted into the Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest. Bo is currently a member of the band, Bo Posey and Shiftwork, where he is the lead vocal and fiddle player.  Bo says they are all a great bunch of guys and he is extremely lucky and blessed to be a part of the fun playing with the guys and playing for their fans.
